TelecomUSA, a division of MCI-WorldCom, has increased rates on those two older services as much as 80% (eighty percent) in a single rate hike! Their 10-10-987 per-minute rate to call within the US and to land-line phones in Western Europe has increased to 4 cents a minute as of February or March of 2006. Of course, they also charge the 53 cents per call connect fee.

They are also charging more to place calls TO mobile phones overseas (also pagers and other wireless devices).
